The fundraising gala "Cocktails by the Book" was presented by Friends of Selby Public Library on January 23rd. The Library pulsed with fun throughout the evening. Fete created the savory food and libations. There were few who left without raving about the music of Jennifer Leigh and her New Digs who made the dance floor rock with excitement. Lots of eclectic raffle items were won, donated by many generous local businesses and sponsors such as Jerry & Mary Bernas -- they donated a fabulous boat cruise outing on Sarasota Bay with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.

Every Board Member assisted in some way to create a stunning backdrop to a truly memorable event. Yellow roses, blue hydrangeas, delphiniums and swirls of royal blue organza accented the Library thanks to the expert touch of Rose LaChappelle. All proceeds will benefit free programming for adults and children at Selby Library.
